There is something about water and creatures that live in water that make you feel calm and peaceful. I just love watching the ducks at the lake. We cannot feed them and they don’t seem too friendly with humans. They live a natural life eating the fish and the insects in the lake, keeping the place clean and keeping the balance of the ecosystem there.
These brown ducks are the commonest ones here. There are a few moorhens in some lakes, cormorants, painted storks, grey heron and purple heron apart from egrets are some of the birds you would commonly in these lakes. The kingfisher is present where there are plenty of smaller fishes and trees covers. Very rarely you would see a pied kingfisher or a night heron here.
Just to watch these birds dive while flying to catch fish is a beautiful scene. However, I am just happy to watch the duck quack and swim about in the waters in their own gentle way.

I have such lakes and rivers near where I live. I visit them often and have many pictures. Yesterday I did one of them great. Today, maybe I’ll post them.
Lovely capture! I enjoy watching animals and spending time in nature, there’s always a lot to learn from them.
I have some lakes near which I can see ducks.
I do enjoy seeing the ducks at the park in the summer.
