Crutch Words that are Broken

It’s once again time to clean up some of those crutch word. They are not necessary in a sentence and oft times impact the message the speaker is trying  to communicate. Almost everone is guilty of using a few. Here are some crutch words I would like to simply go away. I think they are broken.

1. Seriously ~ Must you announce that you are now going to say something serious or are you simply practicing sarcasm. This can be very confusing and it is overused.

2. Obviously ~ I have spent most of my life pointing out the obviously, rarely do I use the word obviously. Others use it enough, I don’t need to.

3. Honestly ~ Every time  I hear this I want to say “were you not being honest the last 20 minutes?”  I have been known to say it right out loud, on occasion.

4.  “For what it’s worth”, if it is not worth saying, please keep it to yourself.

5 . “Like” is the new but, if you want an explanation send me a message.
