Corona virus awareness poster in Chicago, I don’t think this poster needs a caption Read, and act. Today the precautionary measure were already told by Prophet Muhammad PBUH 1400 years ago.

There are several Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad about such disease like today we are facing in shape of COVID-19

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “There is no superstitious infection, but do not mix the sick with the healthy.”

Infection control in Islam includes isolation and quarantine.  Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, instituted strategies that are today implemented by public health authorities.  He commanded his followers not to travel to places known to be afflicted with illness and he advised those in the contaminated areas or communities not to leave and spread the disease further afield.  He said, “If you hear that there is a plague in a land, do not enter it; and if it (plague) visits a land while you are therein, do not go out of it”.[6]  He also counseled ill people not to visit healthy people

Prophet Muhammad about a Viral disease

Narrated `Aisha: (the wife of the Prophet) that she asked Allah’s Apostle about the plague and Allah’s Apostle informed her saying, Plague was a punishment which Allah used to send on whom He wished, but Allah made it a blessing for the believers. None (among the believers) remains patient in a land in which plague has broken out and considers that nothing will befall him except what Allah has ordained for him, but that Allah will grant him a reward similar to that of a martyr. SAHIH BUKHARI HADITH NO. 5734.

But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you, and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not. Surah Al Baqra (216).  As per this verse, a human being does not know what’s good and what’s bad. At certain junctures in life, a man cannot perceive what is right; rationality and logics fail at such junctures due to the limited perspective of a human.
