Commelina communis, also known as Asiatic dayflower, is an annual plant producing stems 25 – 70cm long. In my area this flower is grown as an ornamental plant but, I read that in China it is commonly cultivated as a vegetable. The consumable parts are leaves, flowers and young shoots – raw or cooked.
The plant is also harvested from the wild for local use as a food, medicine and source of a dye. I had no idea that this plant is edible. What about you?

What a gorgeous color!
Such a stunning shade of blue.
It is one of the few pure blue flowers.
Thank you for this information. I didn’t know it was edible.
I did not know either. However, I do not think I will ever eat it!🙂
