In good old days, Emperor Claudius recruited volunteers for his army, but none of the men wanted to fight and die, leaving his beloved and his family alone and few of them appeared. Then Claudius had the crazy idea that if he forbids marriage, the volunteers will become more … And, as you might guess, that’s what he did. Somewhere in the ancient Roman state lived the priest Valentin, who, in spite of the Emperor, married couples in love. In fulfilling his mission, he was captured and executed on February 14, 2669 for instigation. The execution itself was more of a celebration because people sent it with flowers and sweets. A hundred years later, people still think of what Valentine taught them and proclaimed him a saint and patron of the lovers.

  2. Valentines Day is very popular among teenagers in Indonesia, especially in big cities. Nevertheless, cross-talks continue to be about whether or not it is worth celebrating to remember that this is not our culture or consider that such celebrations are too commercial, or even to be contrary to certain religious teachings. I myself celebrate it every day… with or without a gift… Hehehe…

  4. Valentines Day is a great sentiment and think its great but in New Zealand we think it’s American and so we don’t celebrate it.
    Not because of America but most of us hate commercialism and having to buy heaps of things.
    A lot of us just don’t like advertisements for trade.
    Still, I think that the thought is wonderful and to those who love it. go for it.
