Belarus Cup 2020 Semifinals – 2nd Leg

The second leg of the Belarus Cup semifinals will be played this afternoon in a Hump Day doubleheader.  The first match will be FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk hosting Dinamo Brest.  Brest won the first leg 2-0, so Shakhtyor will have to win by at least three goals in order to advance to the Cup final.  However, Shakhtyor is not out of contention because they just defeated Dinamo Brest 2-0 over the weekend in regular season play.

The second match is FC BATE Borisov hosting FC Slavia Mozyr.  Slavia won the first leg 1-0, so BATE will have to win by at least two goals in order to advance.

Both home teams are looking to bounce back from their first leg deficit, but they hopefully be inspired by their fans that will show up despite of the Covid-19 pandemic.  Who will advance?  Let me know.

    • I guess you are right since everyone there has probably already contracted it. Anything can happen in these Cup matches although it always seems like Real Madrid and Barcelona make it to at least the semifinals of the Copa del Rey.

      • Yes. Copa del Rey was played in a single match and there was always excitement and big surprises but for the last 10 years the Copa del Rey has been played in two matches except for the final hence FCBarcelona has played the final the last 10 years. This year, a single match was reinstated again and for the first time in a decade, neither Barcelona or Real Madrid have reached semifinals.

        • Their dominance is impressive. The one year that Barcelona and Real Madrid do not make it in the Copa, the coronavirus happens. It’s Barcelona’s fault because they still haven’t found a replacement for Neymar. It’s Real Madrid’s fault because Zidane would not play Bale and James.

          • Yes, coronavirus hates humble football teams. It wants Real Madrid and Barcelona in the final so coronavirus got angry and now we have a huge problem. We should not upset viruses
