Belarus Premier League Week 3 Preview – 4/4/20

There is a tripleheader today in the Belarus Premier League.  The first match is between Shakhtyor and Neman Grodno.  Both teams are tied in the standings with one win apiece and a +1 goal differential with two goals scored.  Maybe the fans for Shakhtyor will show up for their home team to give the club a boost in Soligorsk.

The second match is with FC BATE Borisov at home against Ruh Brest.  BATE was a powerhouse during the 2010’s, but they are in 15th place in the standings.  Ruh Brest has been playing close to the vest with a 1-0 loss and a 1-0 victory in their first two games.  I think that we should all keep things close to the vest this weekend.

In the final match of the day, FC Dinamo Brest will have a home match against FC Slavia Mozyr (I did not make these team names up).  Both teams will be looking to jump back into the winner’s column this week after Dinamo Brest was involved in the season’s only draw so far last week and after Slavia lost last week.  Being desperate to win will make this match exciting.  Actually, all of these games will be exciting because these players will be desperate to stay alive while playing soccer in this pandemic.
