Let me begin by saying cowdung pies as they are called are now exported from India to the Western countries.
Having said that I know you will now not be ill at ease when I tell you that we kids helped mother to apply cowdung paste to courtyards in readiness for Christmas What you see in the image however are not us (lol)
The courtyard looked spotless with this application. Cowdung is a disinfectant. And surprisingly the smell that emanated from the dried up courtyard was pleasant and acceptable.
Cowdung has several uses. It is an excellent manure, the cowdung pies are used as fuel and now you know it is also applied to courtyards and floors.

Some Hindu’s are even use it for religious purpose and some drink Cow urine as well

The cover image is a typical picture of country-side India. And seeing that only, I clicked the article to read. And yes, there are hundreds of uses of cow dung. And I along with my family are one of the users.
It will take some time for youngsters to accept its use.
The tragedy is that very few people actually understand its use. And even those who do, aren’t too inclined to accept it. They would prefer medicine by paying over the free cow dung they would get anywhere.
It is too late now to imbibe this culture in youngsters of today.
