We all have aspirations and ambitions and when those thoughts occur to us we never for a moment think anything can come in our way to reach our ‘destination’
Despite obstacles we do not give up but keep on struggling as we have fantasized the success of our aspirations and we fail to see the true picture. We look at it with coloured glasses.
Smart is the one who sees a ‘cut off’ time on the horizon and moves on. It does not take long for them to accept the situation and they have a spring in their step going about their life whistling away.
It is not how much we have but what we make of what we have is the route to happiness and this is possible only if we accept what we have with a smile on our fac.e

I am not sure about that. Happiness has no conditions on it waiting for it to happen for us. It is either a condition we embrace or not, in a lot of respects.
How does acceptance relate to happiness, if it does that is, and where does love fit into happiness too?
Happiness sits in its own cellar, waiting for you to open its door.
Acceptance that it is there helps.
Love of yourself is the key to happiness though, as even when you have trouble accepting something, with love still there, trusting that you are learning and growing from that seed of love that God placed within you when he created you, all is well, and remains well, and happiness shines forth from love like a light from a globe.
That is my motto too and that is to love oneself and for that you need to first accept what life offers. Acceptance and happiness are connected. If you are not ready to accept your fate how can you expect to be happy?
Yes, you make a good point.
It’s just that I think that internal peace and infinite happiness are attributes of unconditional love (or God’s kind of love), and so when we love fully, we gain peace and we are happy, but as you say acceptance is the first step, towards loving ourselves. I agree with that.
When one loves oneself he or she helps save planet earth as when one loves oneself he or she will not do things that will harm others.
Yes, love reaches out and embraces all, and it mostly starts from self-love. When we light our own candle, it shines on all, helping all to see better with that extra light burning in our world.
I am a very content person , I accept my situation and work to make things better. Life is too short to live with regrets and misery.
When I was younger days I did not give up easily but now it is a different story
You are right that accepting what you are now will make you happy.
That thought comes with maturity
I am basically happy with what we have; but it would be helpful if we could handle big outlays of money without worry. We have one coming up; and I worry about going into assisted living and/or a nursing home in the future.
Living for the moment and leaving the rest to time could be an option for you.
I am a humble person and I am pleased with what I have, dear friend … I have everything to live beautifully and well
Wish many were like you. This world would have been a better place.
Here, however, I totally agree with you … if you have too high goals that are not achievable you can be very unhappy but you are completely guilty of it yourself … the greatest wealth is health, and for the time being it serves me well
