A typical Indian dish

These are cones wrapped in jack fruit leaves.  The cones are first made using the leaves and lined with ground rice paste and filled with a mixture of jaggery, coconut and cardamom  powder. The top is sealed with  rice paste  and steamed. 

Before eating the outer cone is removed. These kind of delicacies are not prepared often but just about once a year and for whatever reason they are prepared on New Year’s day. 

These could be had as an evening snack or even for breakfast
