This picture was taken by my younger son Mark, I just borrowed it from him because I found it incredibly beautiful and it is very special to me. This was taken from the car window on a drive back from a funeral of a dear friend. I was in no mood to enjoy the sunset that evening but I did feel like the sunset was portraying my mood that day.
I was surprised to find the picture in my album and doubly surprised to realize it was taken on the day of the funeral. It brought back all those emotions once again.
The bronze grey sunset above the dark world looks like a still from a horror movie. Those dark clouds in the middle seems to emphasize it I think.

Your son has your talent for photography and appreciation for nature!
I agree with Bradley.
It’s a beautiful photo, sunsets can bring up some emotions.
It does look quite dreary but then again it all depends on one’s state mind.
Two lovers may just see a romantic setting when they’re cuddling.
Beautiful sunset. Every sunset is beautiful even if it looks more “dark”.
Many times I get so caught up in sunsets and my emotions, the sun is long gone and I am still basking in the beauty in my mind. I could do the same with your peaceful sunset.
this is a wonderful sunset, such an interesting connection of the beginning, the end and of course the sadness.
i love the picture per your question!
Thank you, I will tell my son what you had to say about this photograph. But have you ever felt that nature sometimes reflects your mood?
Doc, this picture is a lot similar to the one you have posted in chasing after the last rays of the sun.
it really is, i think your influenced me without my realizing it!
LOL I sure you posted it without seeing mine, anyways great minds think alike.
Let’s go with that one! 🙂
nature always affects my mood!
Not the other way around?
i wonder, perhaps sometimes I cause thunderstorms!
Before I used to see sunset as a symbol of mortality. I used to feel threatened when sunset comes. Now its the other way around. Sunset for me is a time to relax and recover the energy used by the actions we had done for the day. A feeling of hope for a new morning to come.
Hmm I have never though of the sunsets in that fashion, for me it has always been a symbol of hope and promise. Thanks for stopping by.
