A happy picture for the new year

It may sound silly or corny but one of our rituals for the new year is to take a picture, on that would show happy faces. That may attract happiness so we would be happy the whole year round. But aside from the superstition or baseless belief, a happy picture means a positive thing so I guess it is imperative to have one for the occasion.

This reminds me of my grandmother whose frames on the wall have nice pictures that exude happiness whether it is a photograph of people, animals or even a scenery. She said that seeing a happy picture can uplift the spirit somehow even if the person is sad. In that case, a happy picture is like a salve.
