This time of year the foxtails are hollow, the seeds have already fallen. They act like wheat in the wind.

That is a good thing. Foxtails in the ears is bad news.
Oh boy, they sure are a problem. Eyes, ears, pads..We always check for them and ticks. My old dog chewed one, swallowed it, then a bump came up in her neck. Exploratory surgery and out came that fox tail. It had almost made it’s way from the throat to the outside of her neck.
We have an issue with burs. Not dangerous, but a pain to remove.
