Lake Okareka (1/6)

This is in Rotorua. The air smells like sulphur, because Rotorua is a unique place of geysers and mud pools.

Its Lake Okareka, we were staying at Top 10 Holiday Park at the Blue Lakes and loved it. This was really early morning. Taken in colour because the photo is not black and white, it is as is!

  1. You get used to the smell after a while, its not a strong smell. It depends where you are in Rotorua, the smell is not everywhere. I would not wish to buy a home in Rotorua but the hot pools are great and there are some great activities going on there.

  2. I love that shot with its subtle colors. I would not like the smell of sulphur. After an earthquake here made a sink hole in the library parking lot where a hot spring used to be, I began to hate going to the library because the air around it smelled so bad. I like seeing the beauty here without the smell.
