Or sometimes referred to as the Castor Bean Plant is pretty but can be deadly. I sure do love them though, they are so pretty.

The camera crew was filming him eating them. I watched in horror . It took 2 hours for them to notify a medic. By then he had to be helicoptered out.

Yes, it is a native African Plant. The seeds are rich in Ricin. A fatal does for an adult is 4-8 seeds.

My grandmother used to give us Castor oil for constipation. I hated that stuff.

Very true Norman. I was watching one of those survival type shows, and it showed one of the guys eating like 6 of these seeds. They had to pull him and rush him to the ER. He did live… Just barely.
