My second trip to KL, Malaysia was in December. It seems strange now, looking at the pictures but at the time I remember being excited to be in Malaysia when it was 30 degrees outside in Indianapolis Indiana. I didn’t, when talking to home, actually mention that part. I did miss all the fun holiday preparations that year so that was a little bit of a downer.
I do enjoy the holiday lights all over the world. Singapore has the best overall Christmas displays of any Asian Country. It was fun to see the mix of traditional European and Asian cultures in the displays. Landing in KL, there were fewer displays for the Christian Holiday, but in fairness it is a Muslim country so that truly should be expected.
My second visit was highlighted by the vist to an Elephant Rescue facility in the mountains outside of KL. I have always admired Elephants. In Thailand they are part of the fabric of society. It was wonderful to see people who cared deeply for the creatures. They are just beautiful. I also found my way around the KLCC mall, that is actually a mall connected to the Petronas Towers. They have a great first run movie theater so I managed to catch a couple of movies while I was in country!!!
