Top 5 Summer Destinations in the World

While waiting for the spring to arrive, it is time to start dreaming about summer destinations. We missed the sun and sea breeze for so long, so let’s start planning the summer escape! We all need some vitamin sea, don’t we?

1. Bermuda

Sandy beaches and turquoise sea attract millions of tourists around the world. Bermuda has been voted as Best Caribbean/ Atlantic island by the Condé Nast Traveler readers 18 times since 1994.

Bermuda offers many hidden gems and beautiful spots that you need to see. Maybe the James Bond movie (1967) filmed in Bermuda might tell you that You only live twice, but do not wait your second life to visit Bermuda! The scenery, the locals and the exotic local food that is a combination of the English and Portuguese cuisine can be a lifetime experience for the whole family or for lonely adventurers.

2. Cartagena, Colombia.

While still in Caribbean, let me introduce “the undisputed queen of the Caribbean coast”.  This port located on the northern coast of Colombia is a less advertised tourist destinations, which makes it more fun to explore it. Also known as Cartagena de Indias, this is a picturesque and romantic centuries- old city worth to visit.

3. La Paz, Bolivia

Named by the Telegraph as ” the vertical city that never stops”, this city in Bolivia is another South American city that is worth visiting. There are variety of places and attractions to visit in La Paz (Witches Market, Cholita Wrestling, zip lining, the ruins of Tiwanaku, picturesque Jaen Street, etc.) which makes boredom an unknown category in this Bolivian city.

4. Santorini, Greece

Let’s move down to Europe and explore one of the most beautiful Greek islands, Santorini.

Perissa Beach (aka  Black beach or Perivolos Beach) is one of the most beautiful beaches in Santorini. The other unique beach is the famous Red beach and Vlychada Beach (aka “white beach”).

There are plenty things to do in Santorini: check out and photograph the famous sunsets in Oia, take  donkey ride in the narrow streets of Fira, visit the ruins of the ancient city Akrotiri, or just enjoy the magnificent view from one of the Greek style tavern. The island has amazing hotels and accommodation units that are not really budget friendly, but are worth the splurge.

5. Amalfi Coast, Italy

Charming Italy is always a good idea. Drinking good Italian prosecco or  limoncello liqueur  by the sea will be reason enough to pack your suitcase and head to Amalfi.

The Amalfi Coast is a 50-kilometer stretch of coastline along the southern part of Italy’s Sorrentine Peninsula, in Campania.
