And I have officially completed PowerDot Grand Tour & Trek Century Challenge! The goal getting into this ride was to go beyond my targeted mileage (13.90 miles) in order to conquer it convincingly! It was a morning that started out with a rain storm at 3 AM which hindered the possibility of an early morning ride, so that I could knock both challenges out sooner before the heat rolled in.
It was not until I hit downtown Chicago when I decided to cut the bullshit and located the ‘Route 66’ sign which was easy because it sat on Adams St within Michigan Ave & Wabash Ave. I captured a picture of the other sign near Michigan Ave, but my file damaged while transferring it from my phone to thumb drive. Thankfully I was able to share this one near Adams St & Wabash Ave.Historic route begins – Route 66Eternal Flame of Hope – Special Olympics31st Street BeachNow that I have completed this 100 mile journey, I think its time to get my bike a tune-up. I do not plan on entering any cycling challenges for the month of August unless it is something shorter than 50 miles.

Amazing accomplishment for you. And the scenery looks beautiful.
The scenery is always the best part of the journey. Its what I yearn for.
I can understand that. Thanks for sharing with us.
way to go! nothing like the feeling of being done!
Especially when you juggle between fatigue and emotions from either work or weather. Makes the feeling of finishing sweeter.
oh yeah – it really does help.
That is an awesome challenge to complete. I hope that they pick you so that you can win the cheese.
I hope so too. I would not know how to act if I won all that money
One thing that I would buy is another bike, triathlon bike.
