Nearby historic Saint Augustine, Florida but closer to the ocean is the famous Saint Augustine Lighthouse. This beautiful Lighthouse was originally built in 1824, but then current version is from 1871. It has a unique daymark of black and white stripes with a red lantern. I would love to stay later into the evening and see the lights come on in the lantern and on the buildings.

this is one of the first real lighthouses I ever saw!
It is very old! Is it an active lighthouse?
I love to look at them, I can get nervous on the stairs though!
