On 21.06. 2011 Macedonian authorities erect a huge bronze monument to Alexander the Great in Skopje’s central square.
The Skopje sculpture is 13 meters high and weighs 35 tons.
It is placed on a 10-meter pedestal.
The monument, officially called “The Warrior on Horse,” is made in Italy and is authored by Valentina Stefanovska.
Near the square where the monument is erected, at the foot of the Kamen (Stone) Bridge there are 2 sculptures of swimmers who dive into the waters of the Vardar River.
