Danube Delta

Danube Delta.

The Danube Delta is Europe’s largest delta if we do not count the Volga Delta. Its area is 3446 km ². The trend is the area to its growing annually by 40 m ² sea sediments.

The Danube delta is a unique natural phenomenon, a biosphere world with unique and powerful impact.

Long is 75 and 65 km wide. According to the Danube Commission’s 1971 guidebook, the area of the delta is nearly 3500 km ².

The Danube Delta is swampy and dotted with a dense network of river sleeves and lakes. The beginning of the delta sets the division of the Danube into two main sleeves.

With my friends we visited one of our sleeves – Tulcea sleeve.

Unfortunately the weather was not with us and was quite cloudy…
