Utah State (26-8) has burst the bubble of some team on the fence as the Aggies are the first team in this year’s NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Utah State is now the Mountain West Conference (MWC) champions for the second year in a row with a 59-56 upset of San Diego State (30-2).
With the game tied at 56 apiece, Aggies guard Sam Merrill hit a fade-away 3-point jumper with 2.5 seconds left to give Utah State the lead and the victory.
This game will have a big impact on the NCAA Tournament because Utah State definitely took a bubble spot away from a team. Also, San Diego State will now go into the tournament as a #2 seed instead of a #1 seed.
