The University of Connecticut Huskies women’s basketball program has been the most dominant program in the 21st century. UConn has reached the Women’s Final Four for 12 straight seasons. However, the Huskies suffered their worst home loss in Gampel Pavilion history by losing 74-56 to the Oregon Ducks.
The inside duo of Ruthy Hebard (22 points, 12 rebounds) and Satou Sabally (17 points, 10 rebounds) did major damage in the paint in Storrs, CT. Basically, the Huskies got quacked!
Them Ducks ain’t know joke, but neither is UCONN
Yeah, this is the first season in a long time in which there is no dominant favorite
i think for the first time in many years, Uconn doesn’t have the talent it is used to having.
They have the talent – the issue now is that the talent pool in women’s basketball is much larger than what it was 20 years ago when the WNBA just started. Back in the ’90’s and the 00’s, there was only about 10 ladies that could play in college, but UConn had about 6 of them. UConn already has the #1 senior in high school and the #1 junior in high school signed, so they are not going anywhere
they will be back Gino is a good coach.
