Last year, Julian “J-Rock” Williams (27-2-1, 16 KO) pulled off one of the biggest upsets in 2019 when he scored a unanimous decision over Jarrett Hurd to win the WBC and the IBF super welterweight belts at 154 lbs. However, he slipped against Jeison “Banana” Rosario (20-1-1, 14 KO) Saturday night in his hometown at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, PA in what will be deemed as one of the biggest upsets in 2020.
The fight started off rather even with both boxers landed crisp, clean punches. However, things quickly changed towards the end of the second round when Rosario opened up a cut over Williams’ left eye with a jab. Rosario then wobbled Williams with a barrage of punches in the middle of the fifth round. Rosario pushed Williams to the canvas though, which gave Williams a few seconds to recover, but Williams was still off-balance. When the fight resumed, Rosario landed a vicious right uppercut followed by a left hook. Finally, the referee stopped the fight.

Rosario looked very calm
He said that he had his best camp ever; he wasn’t lying.
They weren’t lying when they said that, that division was popping.
Well damn. That just screws the Charlo fight up.
It sort of does because Williams has a rematch clause, and I guess he is going to use it immediately. Hurd should have used his rematch clause because he would have won his belts back tonight. It looks like Jermell Charlo will have an easy 2020 while this all gets sorted out unless Danny Garcia moves up this year.
Oh, that would be sweet if Garcia moves up. And as for Charlo I’m curious to see if he goes for the trilogy with Harrison. I would honestly move on from Harrison.
Yeah, I think that he he should move on too. He will probably do a couple of stay-busy fights and then fight for all of the belts in 2021.
I just found out that he was fighting this weekend against some guy with yellow hair. Gonna try and watch it on Periscope. I’d laugh my ass off if he ko’d Danny
Lovely post. Thanks for sharing
