Every year at the National Basketball Association (NBA) Summer League, the NBA invites different teams from around the world to compete against professional summer league teams. These games help the other countries that play to become even better in the future, while also showing which players from NBA summer league teams should have the chance to make an NBA roster.
Nobody ever really expected for the other countries to win though. China’s national team defeated the Charlotte Hornets 84-80 in Las Vegas even though China was a 25 point underdog. The FIBA Basketball World Cup will begin on August 31 in China, so the Chinese team could make some noise in the tournament they will be hosting later on this year.

This win is a shocker as China has only focused on basketball for about 3 decades.
