In Venezuela, as in the rest of the tropical countries, the four seasons do not occur as in the countries of the north and south of the globe. But there are some months of the year in which flowers are present with greater abundance, April, May and June, quarter that coincides with springin the northern hemisphere. In May, mainly after the so-called spring rains, when the trees shoot new shoots and the plants germinate, the flowers come out with greater splendor. But among that variety of flowers there is a very special one that in a wide range of colors (red, orange, violet, white, fuchsia) is present in the courtyards and gardens of Venezuela throughout the year, the Trinitaria.
Trinitaria, a flower that possesses medicinal properties, carries the scientific name of Bougainvillea (in Spanish Buganvilia) and is known by different popular names in other tropical countries: ‘veranera’ in Colombia and ‘papelillo’ in Peru. It is not my purpose to expand the botanical explanations and the medicinal properties of the Trinitaria, which are many, but to welcome the arrival of May and to greet the community of Virily.com with the photograph of one that adorned the patio in front of my home for many years.
We have these in the US and there are gorgeous. Thanks for the information.
Lovely post , and flower. We also grow Bourgainvilea in New Zealand.
Oh, very well, then the Trinitarian flower is universal. Thanks for your comment.
I love seeing them in the countryside. If I have a big garden, I might as well plant them. c”,)
But you can also have them in pots and prune them from time to time so they do not grow that much. Thanks for your comment.
I think that is a good idea. If it is possible to make them in bonsai, I will also do it. Thanks for the suggestion. c”,)
I love Bougainvilla! Beautiful post!
Very good! Thank you
Just enjoyed the interesting information and the great beautiful photo.
That is the purpose: to enjoy and be informed, both the written and the image. Thanks for your appreciation.
I love this color, great shot. I have three in my yard. The deep red. the purple and the white with pink tips.
Are they blooming now? The orange is very beautiful. I will share others later. Here where I live there are all the colors everywhere.
Yes this is when they look the best. They are all in full bloom. I love all of the colors. I saw a huge bush the other day with orange, pink, purple, and red all on one plant. One of the members here said you could splice them into one plant. I am going to try this in a few days.
Bougainvillea,It’s wonderful, I did not know it was medicinal
Yes, it is that Buganvilia is better known as an ornamental plant than as a medicinal plant. I have heard that it is in Mexico where they exploit its positive effects on the body and health. Among other things, it helps to reduce dry cough and mucus in the respiratory tract, it serves to fight fever; improves the respiratory system, helps in the proper functioning of the lungs; the roots and leaves are used to balance the digestive system, the roots have a laxative effect and the leaves produce constipation; it also favors the care of the skin, helps to fight acne, infections and desquamation, accelerates the sicatrization; Helps the functioning of the liver by the detoxification capacity it has.
