The workout: Nedbank Runified 8km Challenge

I ran the Des Plaines River Trail today because our temperature in Chicago Illinois was scheduled to hit the 80’s, so running anywhere without shade was not an option. With nothing shorter than 10 kilometers in mind, Sunset Bridge Meadow puts me further back from where I typically start at known as Fullerton Woods trailhead which gives me a reasonable turnaround point. My only gripe about Sunset Bridge Meadow parking lot is that it is less shade in comparison to Fullerton Woods parking lot.

Trail running always motivates me to try out different fashions and colors. I have always noticed that, the more fashionable you are the more sociable those you encounter are.

I took it very easy during this run because my achilles tendon felt very stiff while going out. I have felt the stiffness before which is mostly because of the way I have been sitting lately with my foot resting on it. Felt looser once I took a brief break before turning around. Next time I plan on wearing my compression socks to compress that portion of my lower leg.  –Turnaround–

The original goal was to run strava monthly 10 kilometers, but strava application recorded me for an 8 kilometers virtual run which was because I logged it as a virtual not thinking that the 8 kilometers was today. I plan to make my way out again this upcoming week to knock out that monthly 10 kilometers run, and get closer to my goal for the August Running Challenge as well as Alzheimer’s Society – Run for Dementia. I hope all is well, everyone.
