At 3 pm in the afternoon it suddenly became dark like this, in Auckland, New Zealand.
Now the real fire is nowhere near New Zealand, from here it takes 4 days by boat across the Tasman sea.
Never seen anything like this before so here are the photos I took in the neighbourhood just now.
I have just driven up to Orewa an hour up north this morning and it was nowhere near like this. A bright lovely morning as usual.
