Great capricorn beetle (Cerambyx cerdo).
It is one of the largest insects found in Bulgaria.
The body is thin and elongated (length 24-53 mm).
The antennas are very long, with the males longer than the body (sometimes twice the length of the body) and the females having the length of the eliters.
The body and legs are brownish black.
He prefers to live in sun-exposed, sick and dying old oaks.
The female lays up to 100 eggs on the bark of trees.
After 10-15 days of them larvae hatch, which in the first year make paths on the bark, and in the next 2 to 3 years they dig into the wood and make long paths.
such a great picture pal! you aren’t just a bird picture taker!
Admit it – I don’t like shooting people.
I don’t think I would like to go face to face with that.
It looks scary, but it’s harmless!
Oh I am scared of this Capricorn
Ha, ha, ha! His appearance is lying! It’s absolutely harmless!
