The photo was taken at the River Trail Nature Center in Northbrook, Illinois. The park is part of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County. It’s a great place to go for bird watching and is also home to a wide variety of other animals and wild plants. There is also a rehabilitation center for injured animals, including a Bald Eagle, which would not otherwise survive in the wild.
I used a Nikon Coolpix P7700 camera. I used ACDSee Ultimate 10.4 to adjust the lighting, boost the contrast, saturation and clarity, then sharpen a bit.

Looks very peaceful.
It is. The river just meanders there. You can sit on the bench down by the banks and watch it.
Wonderful.
Thanks
Nice work. It reminds me of Kodochrome on a sunny day.
Thanks, Howard
Nice shot!
Thanks, Georgi
I just noticed that I misspelled the name of the river in the title. It should be Des Plaines, not Des Plained.
Whenever I see such lovely, cool and silent places, only one thought pops up my mind; Nature At It’s Best!
Thank you, Nadeem
Wonderful nature and photo!
Thanks, Ellie
