Carbon neutral cropping is an environmental concept that is being used to prevent climate change. Using a tractor to plow and to cut down weeds creates more greenhouse gases from fossil fuels. However, Monsanto is looking to save the environment by endangering the health of the entire world.
Instead of cutting down weeds the old-fashioned way, Monsanto has created genetically-modified seeds that are resistant to pesticides. From seedtime to harvest, all that the farmer has to do is spray pesticides upon the crops. That does put an end to an excess of greenhouse gases, but forms the problem of pesticides opening the door for all food products to be carcinogenic.
We do have to take better care of the environment, but we must not choose depopulation as a solution.
