Take a look at our temperatures for Wednesday and Thursday in Chicago. Luckily I have no reasons to go out in it because everything that I’m committed to has been canceled today, as well as tomorrow. As I share this I am currently bundled up in a blanket watching the movie ‘Crank’ with my heat on. The only thing missing right now is a pint of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream to eat as I enjoy a relaxing movie night.
God bless everyone that has to go out in this weather because of what responsibility you hold that prohibits you from a day off.

I don’t remember much about Chicago anymore, but I will never forget how much I hated the winters…
It is the only time I regret that I moved to Chicago

That is true! Fall is my favorite season, yet it feels like the shortest to me anyway.
I also prefer autumn, it doesn’t try as hard as summer and is generally pretty temperate…
One of my favorites too. And it looks gorgeous. I can go outside in the spring, and fall to do the things I love because it is not too hot or cold outside
Right there with you- spring and autumn are moderate, while winter and summer are too extreme
I heard a forecast for tonight on the Channel 7 News that we might hit -27 degrees (that’s Fahrenheit for those of you outside the USA, about -33 C). If it does, that will tie our all-time record low temperature. I did not venture from my house either.
Wooo, that’s brutal! I went out in it earlier, and shared my experiences in another post. For the most part I layered up pretty well, but I feel for those that have to be in it for more than 10 minutes. I only went out to start, and move my car, but other than that I did not go far.
I was only out for about a minute to let the dog out. This morning it was still about -17 where I live and I was out for maybe five minutes. I’m glad it’s warming up. They’re saying 52 (not minus, plus) by Tuesday. No wonder people in Chicago are shooting each other.
Hopefully that is the last of temps like this. I can deal with what we had Friday, and I definitely anticipate this weekend. I’m hoping to get a run in outdoors. Funny thing about the shootings is they mentioned that those two days in the negatives we had no killings.
I’ve noticed that the crime level drops considerably when the temperature drops like this. When a murder does occur, it’s usually a family member because the tension builds up at home.
That is interesting with most of the murders being amongst family. I see some crazy sh*t on my Twitter ‘scanner’ notifications.
I have a scanner, the scanner app for my phone and also follow it on Twitter. It’s fun to follow.
My sister loves it when I snapshot some of the Tweets from the Chicago scanner. Many also help me avoid the rough parts of the city, mostly on my side of town.
Some of them are hysterical. I also like the responses some people make.
That too, lol. All of the weirdos seem to come out near, and on the weekend.
