Arctic tern

Arctic tern (Sterna paradisaea).

It performs the longest migration among all birds. It nestles at latitude north of the Arctic Circle, then flies over 15,000 km to the south, to Antarctica, where it spends winter.

Their lifespan is about 30 years and during that time they cover a total of over 2.4 million km.!!!

Imagine my surprise when I found these birds in the archive of photos taken in 2014!

At that time I was not at all interested in bird species!

I preferred to shoot landscapes and architecture.

But they obviously impressed me with something or because I hadn’t seen them before, so I made some shots…
