What's so trendy about Tumbledown Dick?

Some of the things that happen on Virily never cease to amaze me!

I sometimes glance at the “Trending” list to see what’s there, and I was surprised to see one of my own posts there at number 5.

The surprising thing is that the post is three years old, only ever had three comments, and has not been edited by me. It has had thousands of views, but they were years ago.

The post? It was about the nursery rhyme “Hickory Dickory Dock” that refers to a little-remembered and very minor figure from British history, the son of Oliver Cromwell who took over as “Lord Protector” for a short time after his father died.

So why on earth should the post now be half way up the Trending list? Any ideas, folks?

    • That’s interesting, but I’ve no idea how it could have happened. I suppose this is possible if an old post is given a boost via social media, but I haven’t boosted this one! It might be worth trying with other posts just to see if it happens again.

      • i would say it is, I know that I have been sharing old posts for the past 3 weeks. In that time my views on new posts have stayed constant (lower than before)

but now, I only have 1/20 old posts that haven’t picked up views!
