Welcome to Chicken

A mining town in Alaska was being considered for a name. Some gold miners were considering naming it Ptarmigan after a bird which is similar to a grouse. The problem was that it would be hard to pronounce not even considering how difficult it would be to spell. Therefore they chose a bird that was both easy to pronounce and to spell. Therefore the town became Chicken, Alaska.

Wouldn’t it be interesting living in a town named Chicken?

It could get a bit amusing like Where do you live? Chicken. I didn’t ask you what you wanted to eat I asked you where you lived. I told you I live in Chicken.
