For the month of August, I have been working as a one on one with one of our problem clients at the agency. From my observation, he seems to be un-satisfied with where he lives and his current housemates which are much older than him. He throws temper tantrums because of that, as well as the lack of attention from his housemates and the caregiver. He loves to play the game UNO and air hockey! UNO! Fun! I have never played UNO, but now I have learned a little to be able to play the game, but certainly not a professional. And it has been years since I have played some air hockey, oh boy!
My fear is that once this month is over with, the client will not get the attention he deserves and his behaviors will persist, or maybe get worse if his dissatisfaction is not acknowledged.

Keep making him Draw Four and he will be all right
that is a bad situation for both sides. are there other services you can recommend for him?
I spoke with his dad after his dad took him out. Its not easy, but the parents would have to make that decision. That is probably the best decision though because we have no other places that he’d fit. A lot of our clients are old, and often not active unless we push it on them.
i meant city or county services that are beyond what you guys do. my wife does that often for patients. Recommends other services…
They could always move him in with his parents and get a one on one for him. That would be good, but I’m not sure what agency would be a better fit. They’d probably neglect giving him attention.
that is the hard reality of social services
I’ll probably recommend that if I speak to his parents this upcoming week, but hes better off not in the house.
some services probably are available – it is hard to find them. My wife spends 20 hours a week beyond her work hours reviewing and gathering resources.
We played UNO often growing up. Sounds like you have your work cut out for you whit this client. You will be fine I am sure.
I play UNO now on my phone when I am bored. Its fun!
