Lunites who couldn’t afford to send their kids to a real school on Earth, would see them waste three years or more at T.U. only to ‘graduate’ and learn that every job required fluency in English, except, of course, at T.U. where one could get an acknowledgment to an application:“Me did recive yu letter the odda day an we did feel seh dat fe yu to teach fysics yu haffe have a phd inna it.”Well, maybe I exaggerate, but you get the idea. The gospel was that anything local was superior to anything ‘foreign’,especially bad ideas, which were always accepted without more.
The fact that degrees from T.U. (or as I call it, Lunatic University) were rated so low should have created some kind of tremor to alter the policies.
It didn’t.
