Gbenga Akinnagbe is an interesting man and he has explored many facets of his creative nature. Most people recognize him from his acting career. You may recognize him from spots on Madam Secretary, or the Good Wife. You know him as an activist and a man that seeks out a cause.
That is not how I found him. I found him because he started ENITAN VINTAGE. Enitan means “person of story” in Yoruba culture. The goal is to create furniture that tells a story and submerges you into a whole different culture.
“Gbenga Akinnagbe re-envisions fine vintage furniture into ethnically elegant new pieces.”
Some of his pieces I love and others not so much. I do love that he is not afraid to step and use his creative talents in different ways. I admire people who refuse to limit their talents to one specific area. He’s well rounded and creative.
you rock nice post thanks 🙂
Glad that you enjoyed it.
Hmm yeah really fun…
I’ve never heard of him because I’ve never wateched either of those TV shows but I really like the chair.
My point was the creativity change from acting to something so different. That is something I found interesting.
I had never heard of that man before today. I do not watch Madam Secretary or the Good Wife. But I must say I like that chair that you featured. I presume it is one of his creation or selling piece. I will google Enitan Vintage and peruse the site if it offers vintage furniture with pictures attached. Thank you for introducing me to this very creative and multi-talented person.
Read the book “Looking for me” by Beth Hoffman. How someone found a part of herself through antique furniture. You would love it!
I called the library and they are getting the book. I am quite excited. Thank you.
