As many people know being a police officer in any part of the world is a twenty four hour job that requires skills to risk their lives to enter a burning building to save someone who is trapped inside of a burning home before the local firefighters come to put out the fires.
Case in point is when the Dartmouth (Massachusetts) Police Department answered the call from a concerned citizen that an elderly man was trapped in the first floor of a two story home on a Saturday night last month.
Now normally the concerned citizen should have called the local firefighters to handle this case since I am just scratching my head why would the police come to rescue someone inside of a burning home?
Dartmouth Police Detective Scott Brooks arrived at the two story home on Johnson Street to do his duty to serve and protect the citizens of his community by entering the home of the residents who live inside the burning home to escort out safely an elderly man who was on the first floor of the building.D
Four children who were inside the burning home were able to escape the burning home before the arrival of the local firefighters who were able to put out the fire.
Dartmouth Police Chief Brian P. Levesque is proud of the work that his detective did by risking his life getting a senior citizen out of a burning home which resulted in no one being injured.
The authorities are investigating the cause of the fire that happened two weeks ago which thankfully resulted in no one being seriously hurt.
This is an amazing story about the courage of an officer. Thanks.
My pleasure to share these great kinds of stories.
The boys were the lowest scores in medical school when Dr. Graves who was their boss told them that he would give them jobs since he could not keep on flunking them for life.
Wonderful, a real brave hero!
Detective Brooks is a person who did his duty to serve and protect the citizens of his community which is great for police morale.
Great story, thanks for sharing.
You are welcome since the media like to give the police a bad rap over a few rotten apples on the force.
Speed of responsiveness is what is most needed in critical times such as fire.
I remember in one Three Stooges video short called “Men In Black” when the supervisor of the hospital told the boys “Seconds count when you are being called to assist a patient.”
I rarely watch Three Stooges. Is that one of the funniest of the series?
Men In Black if I am not mistaken was nominated for an Academy Award in the short video category. The funny line is “For duty and humanity.”
If it’s a denomination, then it’s definitely a good video.
It is the most likely scenario on why the detective arrived first before the firefighters did.
he probably called 911 and the officer got there before the FD. that’s my guess…
