I’ve been a freelance writer for 10+ years. By now you’d think I’d be used to having my work rejected by an editor for one reason or another. Honestly, it never seems to get any easier for me though. It always takes my breath away and stings in my heart. I think it’s because I always put a lot into my work. I tend to think of it as a work of art that I’m putting out there for the whole world to see and thus I’m determined to always do nothing less than my very best. With this attitude, will the sting of rejection ever hurt any less? Probably not.
Probably not. Rejection is never pleasant, but we can learn from the experience. Keeping why I write in mind is very helpful!
