Last Week of September; Life Update

Another week has begun (it feels like a Monday, even though it is Tuesday).  Eli went back to school this morning after a three day break (he does not go on Mondays).  He starts at 8 in the morning, so we have to wake up around 7 to get him ready.  So far he’s doing pretty well in preschool.    

My mom and I went to his school and had lunch with him today; they had fish sticks.   So much for sticking to low carb eating…. 

My husband and I are going out tonight for a special dinner,   I will get back on my low carb plan after that.  

I don’t know if eating low carb necessarily brings weight loss (although it might if I add consistent work outs) but it does bring my blood sugars into normal readings.  I woke up this morning with a blood sugar of 82; that’s amazing!  

Besides that, not a lot is going on here.  I just thought I would post an update! Hope you all are doing well!  Feel free to share anything you want below 🙂

  1. Wow, it is hard for me to even imagine not getting up until 7 am. I’ve been getting up around 5 for so long (several decades) that I just normally wake up that early regardless of when I go to bed.

    Cutting back on carbs would do a lot of people good, even if they don’t have problems with blood sugar. In a number of studies, the American people get twice the carbohydrates they should consume and half the protein they need. America isn’t the only country with this problem. It is the main reason that so many doctors are now recommending that their patients eat a lot more meat. Our daughter’s doctor told her to triple her meat consumption. Meat is mostly protein.

    • Oh wow, 5 AM? I have a hard time getting up at 7, couldn’t imagine that! Well some people are morning people, some….like me, are not!

      And I agree that it would be good for a lot of people to cut back on carbs, even if they don’t do the kind of low carb I do. That’s very interesting though…that her doctor recommended that. Mine just says eat low carb.
