A Tallahassee police officer’s good deed goes viral

Tony Carlson who is a police officer that is employed by the Tallahassee Police Department assisted a homeless man named Phil who applied to work at a local McDonald’s restaurant this week.

The problem that Phil had was that the management at McDonald’s had with Phil is that Phil needed to shave his beard to be able to work at that store in Tallahassee.

Phil had a razor blade to shave his beard. However he did not have a mirror so he could see where his whiskers were so he could be clean shaven and be hired to work at McDonald’s restaurant.

That is when Officer Tony Carlson stepped in to lend Phil to an assist so he could shave his beard by using a mirror and assist Phil get his beard shaved.

The catch was that a young lady who in the area videotaped Officer Carlson shaving the beard of Phil so he could apply to work at McDonald’s and get hired by the manager of the store.

The videotape of Officer Carlson assisting a homeless man by shaving his beard and giving him a mirror went viral on the social media sites.

It was a double win for both the Tallahassee Police Department as well as for Phil.

The Tallahassee Police Department received some wonderful publicity and Phil was hired by McDonald’s after he went back to apply for a job once again with a face that was clean shaven.

Phil was hired to starting working on Monday at the McDonald’s store. The reason that the majority that fast food restaurants have a no bread policy is for health reasons since the store is fearful that some hair from a beard could fall into the food which would lead to a lawsuit against the fast food restaurant for selling food that is not healthy to eat.

The police officer assisted Phil to get his bread shaven since he wanted to get back on his feet since he was not happy living in the streets anymore.
