Just add a little pasta

My mom was a wonderful cook. She was not a great teacher on how to cook. Things like “just knead” the dough till it feels right. How in the heck would I know what it is suppose to feel like.  It boggles my mind.

We had all different types of pasta in our home. She would say just toss in some pasta. And almost every time she would let me know that I picked the wrong kind of pasta. (It’s a good think I knew she loved me!)

Do you have any idea how many kinds of pasta there are? Do you know that some Mom’s think there is a wrong kind? Let’s take a look.

  1. WOW, I think you even missed some. Latest craze here in Latvia is expensive three colored pasta. Usually regular pasta along with carrot and spinach pasta. I love making pasta so my method is grabbing whatever is on sale no matter what shape or size and adding sauce and I am happy. My latest favorite is fettuccini.
