Bob Williams is the Iowa version of the “Candy Man”

“I like the way that 93 year old Iowa resident Bob Williams who for the last ten years has been given the nickname “Candy Man” since like the hit song that was sung by the late Sammy Davis Junior in 1972, he goes to the Dollar General store in Long Grove Iowa every Saturday to purchase $25 dollars worth of Hershey’s Chocolate Bars with a coupon of $5 dollars.

What Bob has done in the last 10 years is giving away Hershey’s Chocolate Bars to his friends and strangers alike to enjoy eating a meal and living a happy life.

Bob is a retired school teacher who found his calling in his later years of serving the people in his community by giving away Hershey’s Chocolate Bars for free.

It is amazing that Bob like many senior citizens are finding ways to make the lives of other people happier by giving of their time to either give away chocolate bars or work in hospitals giving away free food to the patients.

The reason I mentioned the hit song by the late Sammy Davis Junior is that younger kids today would think of the horror movie called “Candyman” that came out in 1992.

It is true that the old saying “The way to tame a savage beast is through their stomach.” My hat is off toward Bob Williams for making the lives of other people in Long Grove happier with the use of chocolate candy bars.

I am sure that the ownership at Hershey’s Chocolate Bars is loving Bob as their best salesman of all time.
