  1. I have tried most of them and today I made bread with the Gluten-Free Flax and Ancient Grains flour just to see how it would turn out. I have usually mixed that flour with wheat or rye. But it came out pretty good on its own. I don’t have a problem with gluten or blood sugar, but some friends do, so it is nice to know how to make something they can eat if they come over.

    I have found hemp flour to be a little strong, but use hemp oil for dipping, as that is an oil not recommended for cooking, but very healthy.. It tasted a little weedy at first, but I am beginning to acquire the taste. My favorite flours for baking are sprouted rye and sprouted spelt, but I often bake with oat flour too (I just grind oatmeal in the blender).

    My own practice is to eat everything in moderation, as long as it tastes good.

    • Hello Carol, I just found out that almond flour is pretty much the best but it has become so expensive in South-Africa due to drought, that I’m checking out other options, one of which is this Keto Flax bread it’s simply called 4 Ingredient bread. I’m doing it tomorrow!
      * 1 tablespoon Softened Butter
      * 4 tablespoons Ground Flaxseed Meal
      * 1 Large Egg
      * ½ teaspoon Baking Powder

      * ⅛ teaspoon Salt

      Grab your Pyrex glass square dish and add the butter. Melt it in the microwave for a few seconds.
      Crack your egg into the dish and give it a good mix with a fork.
      Mix the ground flaxseed, salt and baking powder in a separate bowl and combine.
      Add all the mixed dry ingredients, ground flax, salt, and baking powder directly into the baking dish and combine all ingredients thoroughly.
      It will turn into a thick texture. Flatten out the surface of the mixture to ensure even cooking.
      Cook in the microwave for two minutes.
      Leave to cool for a few minutes before taking out.
      Use a spatula and gently pull the bread away from the side of the dish. After you turn it upside down, it should come out without difficulty.
      Grab your bread knife and cut it in half to make two slices
      (It’s about $1-50 per kilo)
