My Favorite Music Videos: Love Songs

There was once a popular singer/songwriter who wrote lyrics which basically said that the world could never have enough love songs.  I agree with that sentiment.  It doesn’t matter if they are happy or sad love songs.  They don’t have to be about romance.  I just love love songs.  So I compiled some of my favorite music videos which are songs about love.

My 5 Favorite Music Videos with a Choir

(1)  “Jar of Hearts” – Christina Perri

Most people know Katy Perry. But are you familiar with Christina Perri? I have not kept up with her musical career but this one video she did made a lasting impression. I love this lady’s artistic style of presenting the visualization of her song, as well as her clear sounding vocals.

(2)  “I Want To Know What Love Is” – Foreigner

This song is timeless.  Many have tried to sing it or remake it but nothing beats the original by the group “Foreigner”.

(3)  “Where Is The Love?” –  The Black Eyed Peas

I don’t need to say much about this song because the lyrics provide enough social commentary. This is the best song ever sung by The Black Eyed Peas.

P.S. You may have been hoping for the song by the same name sung by the marvelous Roberta Flack.  In case you were, here is the link to her video.  Roberta Flack / Donny Hathaway – Where is the Love (1972)

(4)  “Nine Million Bicycles” – Katie Melua

“There are nine million bicycles in Bejing. That’s a fact you can rely on.”  Several years back I heard this new artist singing a love song and one of the lyrics that struck me was a fascinating fact.  9 million bicycles in Bejing? I wonder if they have a designated bike lane for bike riders like we do in Austin, Texas USA.

(5)  “Dildara” (“Stand By Me”) –  ShahRukh Khan (Ben E. King)

Awesome cover of American classic song made popular by the late Ben E. King (1938 – 2015); and performed by the fabulous Indian actor ShahRukh Khan for the 2011 Hindi science fiction film “Ra.One”.  * Per Wikipedia: “Stand by Me”—a US Top 10 hit, both in 1961 and later in 1986 (when it was used as the theme to the film of the same name) … I didn’t think the song could get any better until King Khan performed it.  This video scores points not just because it’s an awesome remake of an oldie but goodie American song, but because of its adorable cuteness.

(6)  “A Song For You” – Simply Red

For me, these song lyrics never get old.  I have heard this song sung by so many performers, including the late Ray Charles, but Red nailed it! He is so soulful.

(7)  “Higher Love” – Steve Winwood

In my book, Steve Winwood is a one of a kind soul brother.  He proved that when he collaborated with Chaka Khan for “Higher Love”.

(8) “How ‘Bout Us?” – Champaign

This song is about undying love that can weather any kind of storm.  It’s special.

(9)  Aretha Franklin Collaborations

Finishing off this compilation with two videos that include the legendary Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.  She reigns supreme all on her own, but it is nice when she collaborates with other artists, such as Michael McDonald and the late George Michael.  I love both of these music videos. Hope you like them too!  Hope you liked all of the videos shared.

In Memory Of:

Aretha Franklin (1942-2018)

George Michael (1963-2016)
