GRETA Film Review

Francis recently moved to New York, where she rents an apartment with her best friend. The girl cannot accept the recent death of her mother, so she feels lonely. One day she finds a woman’s handbag in the metro and decides to return it to its mistress. So Francis met Greta – a lonely widow.

New friends spend a lot of time together, and it seems they even replace each other’s family when suddenly a girl discovers in Greta’s closet a lot of exactly the same purses like the one from the subway. Francis realizes that she is in the arms of a lie.

The film about an aging lady who in a very peculiar way attracts young girls to herself, trying to make of them her naughty daughter who by no means wants to learn to play the piano. Thriller, of course, is not here, but here the topic of obsession is presented, oddly enough, presented quite interesting. Originally, I would say. After all, obsession is by no means based on instincts.

There is some kind of transcendental, infernal obsession, I would say. It can not be understood, it must be felt. In fact, we are shown not such a bad aging woman, whose guilt is only that she has allowed viscous loneliness in her life. Of course, according to social patterns, this madam should be the first in line for a psychiatrist.

In short, the movie is crazy! Made according to the laws of classic thrillers, but the plot is unique. It starts harmlessly and eventually turns into hell! Psychological tension only increases – from minute to minute.

GRETA is for lovers of psychological thrillers.
