Love ItLove It

Fun games to play during lockdown!

As some of you might know, I love photography. Luckily my 10 year old grandson loves it as well.

I gave him my little point and shoot canon a few weeks ago. The lens is scratched and it’s having a hard time with low light, but I knew he would enjoy it.

This has been a hard time for him, he just moved into town a week before we were put under lock down orders here in California. He has no friends, and it looks like he wont meet them in school either. Trying to keep this boy off of video games 24/7 has been a challenge.

He only gets 2 hours of screen time a day, which leaves a whole lot of time on his hands.

One day while he was moping around without a thing to do, I came up with a photo scavenger hunt. The only rules were to be creative, and use his artists eye…  I saw the little spark in his eyes… The rest was history.

The hunt had a list of 20 things to find in and around the house.

I will show you ten of them to start.

#6 Six was, “Looking up”.

I love this! lol And there is that Eucalyptus tree that gives us leaves, but creates wonderful afternoon shade. It is a rainbow Euc. The bark is pink, green, yellow a blue grey, and white.

#10 The last one was, “A seahorse or two”

This item took him the longest to find, hence the hand on forehead pose... Half an hour later he finally found it!

He got extra bonus points for creativity, and his selfie theme.

  1. That is a wonderful activity for him and glad you thought of it. Does he also enjoy watching cartoons, drawing in coloring books, and perhaps having his grandma play board games with him? Just some more suggestions.
