Easter Decorations on the Graves of Children (2014-04-15 12-47-16a)
This is the saddest photo I have ever taken. I don’t know the story here but to see these three graves in such close proximity decorated with items that would appeal to children makes me think of the pain their parents must be experiencing.
The photo was taken at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles, Illinois.
I used ACDSee Ultimate 10.2 to crop slightly, adjust the lighting and boost the contrast, vibrance and saturation.

No parent should ever have to bury their children, sad…but the decorations are nice
Very true but, sadly, not uncommon. Where I live children are regularly killed when gang members shoot at each other and hit an innocent bystander. It almost seems to be a weekly occurrence.
That is sad to hear.dangerous place to live
It didn’t used o be. The shootings were confined to a small part of the city where you tried to avoid going. Starting a couple of years ago the crime started to spread throughout the city.
I don’t know about Easter, the only i know is , it is a religious event celebrated every year.
Easter is the day when Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. He was executed the Friday before. His death and resurrection allow for the forgiveness of our sins.
Oh my Gary, you know this got my attention. It is sad but happy at the same time to see the happy decorations.
True. There is that dichotomy.
