Braven – Movie review

When Joe (Jason Momoa) and his father Linden (Stephen Lang) come to their remote hunting cabin, they hope for a quiet weekend. What they find is a heroin warehouse in that cabin hidden by some drug dealers. Joe and his dad must decide to kill or be killed. Braven is the Canadian Action Thriller drama movie, directed by Lin Oeding and screenwriter Michael Nilon and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett. The stars of the film are Jason Momoa, Jill Wagner, Zahn McClarnon, Stephen Lang.

This movie is not bad at all. It looks like a very low-budget movie, but, of course, more visible and much better than much more advanced action movies. Also, due to Jason Momoa and Stephen Lang, the movie gives the impression of Hollywood movies. The story is nothing special, but in the movie are pretty good characters, especially Joe (Jason Momoa) and his father Linden (Stephen Lang), who are in a very short relationship, which we see between them in the movie, and they have created great connection.

As for the action, I liked it. There are not so many exaggerated action scenes which we can see in most movies today, but it seems fairly simpler and more realistic. Joe (Jason Momoa) is not a classic superhero in this movie, but an ordinary man who wants to do everything in his power to save his family, and does not do it in some incredible way but rather convincing. Also, there are some crazy scenes and he is quite innovative with ‘solving’ criminals.

There is not much more to say, the film is very short, 94 minutes according to IMDb, but the movie lasts somewhere around an hour and a half. If you are a fan of action, just go ahead and watch it, you will not be disappointed, yet do not expect an unforgettable experience.
